The company started in New York in 1917 by Barney S. Bonaventure. Barney was an inventor of pointe shoes and accessories. The company ran frequent ads from 1924-1934. He had a staff of foreign craftsmen making his shoes in the early days. Barney's patent for his Indestructible Box Toe Shoe was granted Feb. 1925.
These shoes below we estimate are from the 1940's and 1950's.
